Limit user access to assets

You can configure the application to limit each user's access to only the assets that are assigned to them.

1. In the navigation pane, select Settings > Account Management.

2. Expand the appropriate account and module, and then click Manage in the Collections tile. The list of collections is displayed.

3. For the People collection, click and then select Link to users.

4. Click the People link to display the collection. The Link to user field is displayed in the collection.

5. Select each employee whose access you want to limit. The users details are displayed in the details pane.

6. Select Link to user, and then select the user account to link to the employee.

7. In the navigation pane, select Settings > Roles & Permissions.

8. Create a custom user role to define the tasks you want the employees to be able to perform. In the custom role, create a filter to limit the records the user can view:

   1. Click under Limit record permissions.

   2. Select the Collection whose records you want to filter.

   3. For Field, select Assigned To (or the field the system is pulling from to assign the asset to a user).

   4. Set Value to Current User.

   5. Click Apply.
