# Ursa Inspection

Ursa Inspection enables you to use photos of an asset to complete form fields instead of entering inspection results by hand. When enabled, a technician can take photos of an asset and have Ursa fill in fields based on the information it can identify from the images.

This process speeds the completion of forms and ensures consistency in report content.&#x20;

Ursa Inspection works in the web and mobile apps. Field technicians can capture photos on their phone and get the same AI-filled results a desktop user would.

## Identifiable elements

Ursa can determine the following information visually:

* Condition and wea&#x72;**:**&#x20;
  * Tread/blade/edge wear
  * Fading or peeling paint
* Object damage and where the damage is located:
  * Dents
  * Scratches
  * Cracks
  * Chips
  * Corrosion and rust
  * Broken or bent components
* Completeness:&#x20;

  * Whether guards, covers, and accessories are attached
* Status indicators:&#x20;
  * Gauge readings
  * Warning lights
  * Visible fluid levels
  * Displayed tire pressure readouts
* Cleanliness and environment:

  * Blocked vents
  * Obstructed access
* Readable text:&#x20;

## Ursa field type support

Ursa can complete any field for which the answer can be detected in the photo. The following table describes how Ursa Inspection supports each field type.

## Unsupported fields/elements

The following information cannot be determined in images or requires human judgement. These fields are left blank for you to complete:

The one exception is when the information is physically written in the photo, such as a date printed on an asset tag.

* Internal mechanical condition
* Functional test results (for example, whether the object powers on successfully)&#x20;
* Object history (**Purchase Date**)
* Ownership (**Assigned To**)
* Cost
* Elements that require measurement beyond what is photographed
* Dates, currency, and formula fields
* Signatures and file attachments
* Location and linked-record fields

* If something is not evident in the photos, Ursa skips the field instead of guessing. A blurry or unusable photo leaves your form unchanged.
* Required-field validation still applies when you submit, so Ursa never lets you skip your form’s rules.

## Enable Ursa Inspection

1. **Enable the capability for your organization.**&#x20;

   Ursa Inspection must be activated for your account. If the option is not available on your forms, contact your Asset Panda representative or Customer Success Manager to have it enabled.
2. **Enable Ursa Inspection for specific forms.**&#x20;
   1. In the navigation pane, select **Settings** > **Account Management**.
   2. Expand the appropriate account and module, and then click **Manage** in the **Forms** tile. The list of forms is displayed.or inspection form.
   3. In the form’s settings, select the **Enable Ursa Inspection** toggle. A tooltip next to the toggle explains the feature.
   4. Save the form.&#x20;

## Use Ursa Inspection on a form

1. Open the form you want to complete.
2. **Start the inspection.** The **Ursa AI Inspection** button is displayed at the top of the form.&#x20;
3. Tap the **Ursa AI Inspection** button to open the inspection window.&#x20;

On a phone or tablet, tapping the button lets you take photos using your device camera, so you don't have to leave the form or upload files separately.

4. Add one or more photos to inspect:

   * Capture or upload from your device.&#x20;
     * On mobile, take photos with your camera.&#x20;
     * On any device, drag photos into the window, or browse to pick them from your files.
   * If the **Enhanced Attachments** feature is enabled for your account, switch to the **Gallery** tab and pick images from your in-account attachments gallery.

5. Click **Inspect** to run the inspection. Ursa reviews your photos against the form’s field list to identify labels, field types, and drop-down options across all pages in the form.
6. Review the form results. Every field Ursa could identify and complete is marked with an **AI** ✨ icon. A counter shows *“N fields filled by Ursa AI.”*&#x20;
7. Review each AI-filled value and edit anything you want to change. The icon remains so you always know which values came from Ursa.&#x20;

* Ursa may replace existing form values based on its inspection. However the data is only replaced if you accept the AI-filled result.
* You can re-run an inspection with more photos if the initial inspection results are not sufficient.

8. Complete any remaining fields and then submit the form as normal.

Nothing is submitted automatically in the form. Ursa completes available fields, but the user must submit the form after reviewing the completed fields.

9. After the form is submitted, open the form’s logs in the **Activity Stream** to review the submission.&#x20;

* **View the inspection photos.** \
  Every picture that was uploaded and inspected is saved with the submission, so reviewers can see the images Ursa used in the inspection.
* **Identify who (or what) filled each field.** \
  Each field that Ursa completed shows an **AI** ✨ icon, so you can distinguish Ursa values \ from user-entered values.

## Photo Guidelines

Use the following information when capturing photos to ensure the best inspection results:

* Use several photos for each inspection. For example, you can submit a wide shot for context as well as close-ups of the areas relevant to the form or of problem spots.
* Submit well-lit, in-focus photos to improve inspection accuracy.
* Capture readable text when it is relevant, such as for serial numbers, tags, and labels that can be used to fill matching fields.
* **Supported formats:** JPEG, PNG, GIF, WebP, and HEIC (iPhone photos are converted automatically)

If a photo cannot be processed, Ursa will not complete any fields that might be associated with the photo.
