Calendar Widget
Use the Calendar widget to display date-based records from any module in a calendar format on your dashboard. The widget supports Month, Week, and Day views, helping you track upcoming deadlines, events, or scheduled tasks. You can open record details directly from the widget, switch between views seamlessly, and configure multiple calendar widgets as needed.
Prerequisites
The collection from which the calendar is displayed must contain a date field.
Review Required Configuration Options
Before adding the widget, review the fields required for configuration:
Chart Name: The title that appears at the top of the widget on your dashboard.
Chart Description (optional): A short explanation of the widget’s purpose.
Account: This field is prefilled and read-only. It reflects the current account.
Module: The module that contains the records to display, such as Assets or Tickets.
Data Source: Choose one of the following:
Collection – All records from the selected module.
Saved View – A filtered set of records from the module.
Date Field: Required. Determines the calendar placement of each record. Only date-type fields are available.
Display Field: Optional. Defines the label shown for each calendar event. Any field type can be used.
Use a Saved View to limit which records appear on the calendar. The Display Field is useful for showing record identifiers like Asset Name, Ticket Title, or Employee Name.
Add a Calendar Widget to a Dashboard
In the left navigation panel, select Dashboard.
Select Add widget in the upper-right corner.
Under Chart, select Calendar, and then select Add.
In the Chart Name box, enter a title for the widget. For example, Upcoming Maintenance.
(Optional) In the Chart Description box, enter a brief explanation of what the widget displays.
Review the Account field. This field is prefilled and cannot be edited.
In the Module list, select the module that contains the records you want to display.
Under Data Source, select one of the following:
Collection to include all records in the module.
Saved View to include only filtered records.
In the Date Field list, select a field with a date value. This determines the record’s position on the calendar.
In the Display Field list, select the field that should appear as the event label.
Review the calendar preview on the right side of the screen. The form validates all required inputs and displays an error if a required field is missing.
Select Add to create and display the widget on your dashboard.
View and Navigate Calendar Events
The Calendar widget opens in Month view by default. Events are placed based on the selected Date Field, and the Display Field defines the label shown for each record.
To open a record’s detail page, select the event name. The record opens in a new browser tab.
You can switch between calendar views using the view selector in the widget’s top-right corner. The following navigation patterns are supported:
In Month Calendar View, select a date to open the Day List View for that date.
In Week Calendar View, select a day to open the Day Calendar View.
In Day Calendar View, select the day header to open the Day List View.
In Month List View, select a day header to open the Day Calendar View.
In Week List View, select a day header to open the Day Calendar View.
In Day List View, select the day header to open the Day Calendar View.
In any calendar view, if more events can be displayed for a date, select + more to open the Day List View.
When you switch views or interact with a date, the calendar picker automatically highlights the selected date. If the number of events in a list view exceeds the initial visible area, a loading indicator appears while additional records load. To make changes to the widget, use the settings menu in the widget header. From there, you can edit or remove the widget.
