Ursa Forms
Creating Forms with Ursa
Ursa can generate complete forms for your collections based on a natural language description. Instead of manually adding fields one by one in the form builder, you can describe what you need and let Ursa create it for you.
What Ursa Can Generate
When you describe a form to Ursa, it can create:
A complete form with all the fields you need
Appropriate field types (text, date, dropdown, number, etc.)
Form layout and field ordering
Field validation rules
How to Create a Form with Ursa
Navigate to the collection or forms page where you want to create a form.
Open the Ursa chat drawer by clicking the sparkle icon on the left navigation bar.
Switch to Agent mode using the mode dropdown in the chat input area.
Describe the form you want to create.
Ursa generates the form structure and presents it for your review.
Important: Form creation requires Agent mode. Ask mode cannot create or modify forms.
Describing Your Form Effectively
For the best results, include these details in your description:
Purpose — What the form is for (e.g., "a check-in form for returned equipment")
Fields — The specific data you want to collect
Field types — Mention if you need specific types like dropdowns, date pickers, or photo uploads
Who fills it out — This helps Ursa choose appropriate field labels and ordering
Example Prompts
"Create a check-in form for laptops with fields for condition, location, any damage notes, and a photo."
"Build a maintenance request form with fields for asset name, issue description, priority level (low, medium, high, critical), and requested completion date."
"Make an employee onboarding form that captures the new hire's name, department, start date, manager, and a list of equipment they need."
"Create an audit form with fields for inspector name, inspection date, pass/fail status, and comments."
Reviewing and Editing the Generated Form
After Ursa generates your form:
Review the proposed fields, types, and layout.
If everything looks correct, the form is ready to use.
If you need changes, you can:
Ask Ursa to modify specific fields (e.g., "Change the Priority field to a dropdown with options: Low, Medium, High")
Open the form in the form builder to make manual adjustments
Tip: It's often faster to let Ursa generate a complete form and then fine-tune it in the form builder, rather than building the entire form manually.
