Depreciation Reporting

Introducing comprehensive depreciation reporting capabilities that provide financial tracking and compliance support.

The depreciation reporting feature includes the following capabilities:

  • Layout from Saved View: Report layout, including visible columns and filtered records, is carried forward exactly from the locked saved view. All filters, groupings, and column configurations selected in the saved view are reflected in the generated report.

  • Report Generation: Reports can only be generated from locked saved views of collections where depreciation is enabled, ensuring accurate and consistent reporting. Users specify custom date ranges, and for each asset, depreciation expense and accumulated depreciation are calculated as per the selected range, factoring in cost, salvage value, useful life, and in-service/retirement dates.

  • Calculation Handling: The system prorates calculations for assets not in service for the entire period and for assets retired or disposed of within the range. Depreciation expense is calculated only for periods when the asset is active, with proration handled for assets acquired or retired during the reporting range.

  • Include or Exclude Fully Depreciated Assets: Accumulated depreciation is calculated up to the end date of the report, but never exceeds the depreciable base (cost minus salvage value). Edge cases, such as assets with zero useful life, non-depreciable assets, and fully depreciated assets, are handled via toggles ("hide fully depreciated" and "exclude non-depreciables"). The system prevents negative values and ensures no asset accumulates depreciation beyond its allowable amount.

  • Report Layout: Each row displays asset details such as ID, name, acquisition cost, salvage value, placed-in-service date, useful life, depreciation expense for the range, accumulated depreciation, and net book value. Grouping and filtering as per the saved view are retained for precise analytical and presentation needs.

  • Save and Share Capabilities: Generated reports can be saved with a custom name and description. All saved reports are available on a dedicated listing page for easy access and management. Reports can be shared directly with other users, with all saved reports accessible to admins by default for oversight and compliance.

  • Export Options: Export reports in PDF, Excel, or CSV formats. Exported files include the applied filters and context for maximum clarity.

  • Security and Access control: User role-based access ensures only authorized users can generate, save, view, export, or share reports. All report actions, including generation, saving, export, deletion, and sharing, are logged for a complete activity trail.

Date Fields - Default to Today

Date Only and Date & Time fields now include a Default to today checkbox in field settings to streamline data entry. When enabled, the option automatically populates the field with the user's current date or date and time when a new record is created, saving you time and ensuring accurate, up-to-the-minute data capture.

Edit Data Type of a Field

Control over data has been introduced through the ability to edit and change the data type of existing fields. You can now easily adjust a field's format (for example, changing a Text field to a Number field) to ensure your data is always organized and accurate. The new functionality provides greater flexibility as your asset management needs evolve.

Maps - Address Enhancement

Address fields integrate with a map interface, facilitating more accurate and intuitive location selection. Now, you can easily pinpoint and select the precise location for any address directly on a map, ensuring greater accuracy for your records. The update provides a more intuitive and visual way to manage your location-based data.

Mobile - Push Notifications

The in-app notification system has been enhanced to bring you real-time push notifications directly to your mobile device. Now, you can stay instantly updated on critical activities and assignments, even when you're not actively using the app. The feature ensures you never miss an important alert, helping you stay connected and productive on the go.

Integrations

Webhooks

The webhook system enables automated data updates triggered by specific events and integration within automation workflows, providing the following capabilities:

  • Trigger-Based Events: Sends data automatically when records are created, updated, deleted, or when forms are submitted.

  • Custom Webhook URLs: Supports adding and managing multiple webhook endpoints within an agent or automation setup.

  • Automation Integration: Enables adding webhooks as actions within automation workflows.

  • Standard JSON Format: Sends structured JSON payloads compatible with external systems.

Apple Business Manager - Device Integration

Support for Apple Business Manager (ABM) device integration has been added to Asset Panda Pro with the following enhancements:

  • Seamless Device Sync: Devices can now be retrieved from ABM using the API and sync.

  • Streamlined Management: The integration ensures a way to bring Apple-managed devices directly into Asset Panda Pro for tracking and management.

Limitations:

  • Delta sync and filtering are not supported. The limitation stems from the ABM API itself, not the integration.

  • All device records are fetched during each sync.

Jamf Actions for Device Management

Automations in Asset Panda Pro provide device management actions for Jamf Pro-managed devices. These actions are triggered based on specific system events and are accessible through the Automation interface.

  • Supported Actions: Lock and Erase operations on Jamf Pro-managed devices.

  • Trigger Conditions: Actions execute when records are updated, forms are submitted, or statuses change.

  • Integration: The Automation interface includes a Device Management action type.

  • Supported Triggers: Compatible with record update and form submission triggers.
